A Recipe and a Rant...

I made a coffee cake today. It's the second time I've made this recipe and Paul went nuts over it, so I made another one. I got the recipe on my "Recipe-A-Day desk calendar".

Sour Cream Coffee Cake

I wonder if I can remember the recipe because I'm in my chair and the recipe is out in the kitchen...

SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

Topping (which is really in the center):

1 cup chopped nuts
2-4 TBSP cinnamon
4 TBSP brown sugar

Ingredients:

2 cups All Purpose Flour
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks (1 cup) butter

Cream together eggs, softened butter, and sugar. Add the sour cream, vanilla, flour, baking powder, and salt and blend together.

Grease and flour a baking pan (bundt if you have it).

Pour half the batter in the pan.
Sprinkle the topping on top of the batter.
Pour the other half of the batter on top of the topping.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 55-60 minutes.

Let cool. Take out of pan. Store in refrigerator.

So that's one thing.

"What?"

I'm kind of fuming right now about WebShots, where I keep my pictures. I just uploaded some pics today and there is a giant pop-up saying they are changing over to Smile.Webshots.com in late November. All services will be much different, I don't think I can link to them anymore, and even though they say all my pictures will be automatically transferred, I don't believe it for one second. But I asked that they do it, and they also said they would send all my photos to my desktop in a zip file but I know nothing about how to deal with zip files.

I have over 5000 photos with them and I pay money for premium membership. This really pisses me off!!! I think from December on we will only be able to "look" at pictures, not do things to them, like crop etc., and no share them in blogs. You will even need to pay to just "view" photos... I suppose it's been a long time going like it was, and I've always liked Webshots myself. I will have to look for a new photo stasher. I have a Flikr account but I never really liked them that much, but maybe I'll revisit them and see what's what over there.

I'll take suggestions if anyone has a good photo stasher that lets you control things and link to them, as well.

Cheers (but jeers to Webshots!),

Bex
