Some Days are Diamonds...

Click:

Sorry the notify sent out was incomplete, title, that happens to me once in a while and it's all because of my darn laptop keyboard... all I have to do is look at a key and it types it! It makes me crazy...

So it saved this entry when I only had one word in the title box and sent out a notify... even though I didn't tell it to! Grrrrr...

And I was almost happy for a minute there, before that happened... and that's why I found this little video of John Denver singing "Some Days are Diamonds, Some Days are Stone" for you.

I had "diamonds" in mind, but now that has all turned to "stone" for me!

So... we are having a beautiful, albeit windy, day here in New England today. I'm sure Paul will come home and tell me it was a "bit breezy" out there on the ocean, but the sun is out, it is NOT hot but cool-ish, and all was right with my world until this happened...

It's no great shakes, compared with all the other problems of the world. But it has left me fuming - I need to stop, breathe, and chill out for a sec...

I so miss John Denver.

And here I will end this entry, but not before I send out best wishes to my friend Sheila in Yorkshire, England, who is having to make a very hard but important decision about her beloved kitty-cat who is doing quite poorly at the present time. Oh, he's lived a good long life; Sheila has had him with her for 20 years, and when he came to her, as a stray, he was an adult cat already!

He's one in a million to her and this week, I expect, will be a hard one to get through. So I'm sending hugs to you, dear S.P., and hope whatever happens will be the best for all involved.

This Old Cat

I'm getting on in years,
My coat is turning gray.
My eyes have lost their luster,
My hearing's just okay.
I spend my day dreaming
Of conquests in my past,
Lying near a sunny window
Waiting for its warm repast.

I remember our first visit,
I was coming to you free,
Hoping you would take me in
And keep me company.
I wasn't young or handsome,
Two years I'd roamed the street.
There were scars upon my face,
I hobbled on my feet.

I could sense your disappointment
As I left my prison cage.
Oh, I hoped you would accept me
And look beyond my age.
You took me out of pity,
I accepted without shame.
Then you grew to love me,
And I admit the same.

I have shared with you your laughter,
You have wet my fur with tears.
We've come to know each other
Throughout these many years.
Just one more hug this morning
Before you drive away,
And know I'll think about you
Throughout your busy day.

The time we've left together
Is a treasured time at that.
My heart is yours forever.
I Promise - This old cat.

Cheers for singers who live on in our memories forever, and cheers for our four-footed friends who do the same, in our hearts...
