The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

Brainsalad school of etiquette

I got asked if I had read 'The Book of Mormon' by a couple of fellows a few days ago. My thoughtful, diplomatic reply: "Yes I have. It really sucked."

It was true. I read the first few chapters of 'The Book of Mormon' about ten years ago and was amazed that a new religion had been founded on such a poorly written piece of trash. I had picked it up because I was genuinely curious, not to mock or ridicule, but it just turned out to be such a piece of garbage I could not believe it.

So anyway I got to thinking about how amazingly rude that response was the other day as I was talking to a friend. I mentioned the conversation and we both started laughing. It was just a thoughtless thing to say. But I had to think for about five minutes before I could come up with a more appropriate response. This is as good as it got after fumbling with phrases: "Why yes I have. But I'm very busy now and don't have time to discuss my opinions on it."

And in other news, my mother is now in the psych ward after getting in an argument with the neighbors and then threatening to hit my sister when the police showed up.

Phew!!!!!!!!! I'm glad she didn't get the chance to hurt herself or another family member. She'll probably be home in a few weeks after they get her stabilized on medication. Hopefully she will stay on it this time. Three episodes in the last year and a half has been a bit tough on the family.
