The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

Personal guilt trip of the day

I'm on my way to court when I pass this guy moving with a blind man's cane. I don't know that he was totally blind. He acted like he could at least see me somewhat. He asked me, "Where is St. Mary's Church?"

I told him, "End of the block, take a left, one block down on the left."

Half a block later, I noticed the long line of people standing at the St. Mary's Recreational Center just across the street. So by now he is about a block away from me. I turned around and yelled at him, "Hey, maybe you need to go to the St. Mary's Rec Center", and he turned towards me, but he couldn't hear me. So he turned around and kept going in the direction he was going.

I was on my way to court and would make it just on time at the rate I was moving. I could have been a minute or two late, but rather than sprint after him and point out the lines across the street, I just kept going my way.

Later that afternoon, I heard some poor looking folks near the Rec Center saying, "Look at those lines. I don't want to wait four hours." So I asked them what was going on and they told me that St. Mary's had a sign up to give away free Thanksgiving turkeys.

That must have been what was going on. That poor blind dude probably went to the church and found the place locked.

Maybe he'll figure it out anyway. It's just that being raised Catholic, I have a strong guilt complex. It's that whole confession and sacrifice thing.
