The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy

I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body.

This journal is filled with an enormous number of half-truths and outright lies, including this sentence.

I love winter

I really do. My weekends lately have been all about hiking and cross country skiing in temperatures in the single digits, teens, and twenties. You have to stay active to enjoy it. We got about a foot of snow midweek, and yesterday I was outside for about five and a half hours. Initially, I was with a group learning about wilderness survival. About three hours of that time was spent standing around while the teachers explained how to figure out what direction north was by the moss growing on trees, patterns of snowfall, and shapes of branches. My feet got pretty cold because we weren't moving enough. Then afterwards, I went cross country skiing for another two and a half hours. I warmed up pretty quickly and stayed warm. In warmer temperatures, you exercise and the heat your body generates make you feel hot and sweaty. In colder temperatures, the heat your body generates just makes you feel good.

Anyway, I fell a few times. On my front, and on my back and with snow going down my pants and my neck. Last week, I fell down a steeper incline. I landed on my front and slid about 10 feet before coming to a stop. It was pretty fun. I have a slight burning feeling in my face from being exposed to the cold and I'm slightly red looking. I'm starting to get arthritis in my fingers though because of the cold.

So in two weeks, I get to spend a week in Los Angeles. I'm guessing it will be at least 30 degrees warmer outside. It'll be nice for a change, but I'm also glad that I'll only miss two days of winter. The Saturday before I leave, and the Sunday when I get back, I'll have time to be outside in the snow, doing my thing.
