Hola. Just dropping by to remind folks that I'm in Mexico all this week, in the fabulous city of San Miguel de Allende. More details are available at Gwenda's site.

My favorite thing so far has been the vast market (behind a nearly abandoned US style mall, ah, sweet irony) where we had a fantastic meal of gorditas y Pepsi. I'm not the biggest soft drink fan in the world, but the difference in taste between the sodas bottled here, sweetened as they are with sugar instead of price supported high fructose corn syrup, is sharp.

My favorite stall at the market was the one selling Mexican comics and bicycle parts. Speaking of bicycles, our host and I did a 3 and 1/2 hour ride to, through, and beyond a nature preserve just outside the city yesterday. No major accidents, and only minor lacerations.

I'll post the next UnCommonwealth when we get back, probably on Sunday. It's all about one of America's greatest unknown frontiersmen, James Harrod, and his mysterious death.

I'll also finally be putting up some information on the much delayed novel. Which turns out not to be the novel I was planning on writing first (though the bicycling novel is still very much alive).

Hasta luego, muchachos.
