2007-01-24 4:34 PM Follow Up Peoms I finally got around to typing these up... while taking a break from exam study. AP Calculus, AP English Literature, and Digital Visualization down! Tomorrow is going to be awful, AP Physics and Architecture...
These two are the follow up for the Sunset poem. They aren't so well done, and I'm considering scrapping the daytime one; it got mashed and lost feelin when I tried to fit it to an awkward form. Anywho... They are a bit on the long side. Night The stage for terror, Concealing, creating vulnerability, Exposing the weak, Reinforcing the subtle spies, You hold an evil reputation. Even the moon, You steal your light, Taking from the sun, Taking wholesome brightness, And releasing evil. Your darkness is undeniable, Your reputation proceeds you, Yet is your condition Truly awful? Are you a bringer of only evil? Silent, swift, shadows slip, Circle and surround, Scaring simpletons, Separating the closed From the select accepting ones. The select revel in you, Glorious peace, Illuminating light provoking Reflections, allowing A love, finding allure. Hidden in the depths, Sheltered in the dark, One might find peace, Calm, unity, A life where true hearts shine. In the dark, only Those who light their own Paths, find their own way, Will realize the true, Alarming beauty. Deep in the shade, Protected from the eyes of Worse individuals, True love is released, Free from the burdens of light. Here will undying love be Expressed, unfettered, free, And lovers will not fear Your terror, rather long For your return. Sunrise and Daytime As I awake, I feel the gentle lips, Carefully placed upon my eyes, The candle, rekindled, Wakes Dull at first, The sensation builds swiftly, The candle shares its savage flame, And as the night burns, I arise. No more a candle, The horizon is an immolation, Night is sacrificed, secrecy slips to shadow, The serene night is cast away, Suffering. The flame pierces, Wisps of fire engulf the sky, Shedding light upon the troubled days, There is no way to hide from it, The light. It continues to grow, That giant orb, feeding omens, Releasing the true evils upon the world, Contrary to its shining image, Accusing. The fiery wisps, Suddenly I feel them knocking, Fighting, forcing, freeing the binds on my soul, Duly releasing the daily horrors, Ruthless. The day is good, We are wicked for teaching thus, Daytime forces the mindless toils which Night so smoothly escapes, Stellar. It is a trap, As the candle has lied, Waking sweetly, the light shows the way, But only to a path ending in Perdition. The day toils, It eats my soul, glutton, Feasting freely of confined and confounded Human emotion, my life, my very Substance. Now I long, Just to blow out the candle, Escape the cruelty of the harsh day, Stop the rise before it can Start. So true the night, It’s beauty allows my light to shine, Untainted by the overbearing substance the Fools love so dearly, the forsaken Daytime sun. Rather long... If you make it this far, congratulations!!! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
