2007-06-23 10:24 AM Europe and Employment! Just a few more days to Europe! The trip just seems to keep getting better, we depart July 1 and head into Rome, a few days there, overnight train to Paris, few days there (including a trip to the Palace at Versaille), and then the ferry to London before heading home.
Everything about it seems perfect, good friends, good teachers, good tour, good places. And my parents got me a neat little battery powered digital camera for graduation, so I get to take pictures without worrying about battery life / taking an adapter to charge up. On a flip side, I also have a job for when I get back from Europe. A-T Solutions offered me a job for about three and a half weeks at $12 an hour, 8 hours a day. So I'm going to make about $1,200 before heading off to college. What really excites me is the jobs description; I'd work this job for seven dollars an hour if that's all they offered. I get to work as a technician making training IED's for the military and private contracting companies. The fuse, switches, wired systems, everything is completely functioning, just minus a package of plastic or C4. The electrical wiring is identical to that of the Robotics program, so I'm used to what I will be doing, and feel as though I can actually be productive while I'm working at A-T Solutions. Plus, it'll look great on a job application when they see, under the past employment, "Experience in building Improvised Explosive Devices."
