Recap of the last 3 months (Europe, Work, College)

So I've been terribly busy since the Europe Trip, after I got back I started work, and then that ran straight into the start of college. I figured it was time for me to come back and write again, its something I miss a great deal. College is hectic though, and sleep is a high-price commodity I have to work to get.

Starting with the Europe trip... I can't really break the whole thing down, it was 14 amazing days. Italy was a bit touristy for my tastes, but it was a great deal of fun, and I got to see some amazing sights, great places I thought I would only ever read about. Paris was a little bit of a letdown, not quite as high and mighty as I thought it was going to be, but the Museum de Orsay and the Louvre were absolutely spectacular. The Mona Lisa is kinda stupid looking, but the Venus de Milo is spectacular beyond belief. London was just plain fun, I probably enjoyed it most out of all the places we visited. Stonehenge was a lot smaller as well...

After I came back, I landed an awesome job. I used to be really great friends with a kid in preschool/kingergarden/elementary school, but then my family ended up moving (6 times) before coming back to the same area. My father ran into his father doing work related business, and started talking about summer work. I ended up working as an electronics production specialist at the company, a whopping $12 an hour on a 40 hour week schedule for five weeks. It was a lot of fun, we actually built facsimile IED's for military training, beyond that I'm actually not supposed to talk (they're in the process of having all the work classified as sensitive as opposed to public).

That took up most of my summer, but it was worth it. Now I'm at college, and things have gotten really interesting. My grades are alright, not as hot as in high school, but I'm just making sure I'll hit that 3.5 required cumulative for my scholarship. There are so many fun things to do here though!

-Football games. Carter-Finley Stadium, when full of 60,000 NC State fans all wearing red and white is amazing. We have all sorts of neat things we do, like one half of the stadium screams wolf, the other screams pack, and the echo can be heard into the city.

-Tailgating. Before the games, chilling out, grilling some food, drinking a beer or two (cops are super chill during tailgating), listening to music, tossing a football, its a great way to chill out and then get pumped for a game.

-Hockey games. Absolutely amazing. Even if they have comparatively tiny crowds, they are so much fun, whether its an NC State game or a UNC game... at the UNC games we just cheer against UNC and cheer for the opposing team (if you didn't know, the NC State and UNC rivalry is one of the biggest in the nation)

-Carolina Hurricanes games. A lot of fun, they sit somewhere between the football games and school hockey games.

-Nodebong. Korean Karaoke, its a blast with a bunch of people. Hilarious songs, fun people, all in all a great time with great memories attached.

-Pool. Chilling out, smoking a cigar, playing pool for a couple hours is a great way to relax and enjoy friends' company.

-Golden Dragon and Waba. Golden Dragon is Chinese, and you get this massive plate of super good Chinese food for really cheap. Waba is a Korean place, like takeout Korean, but its great to go in with some Asian friends and chill for a bit.

-Clubbing. Yeah... being half Asian, I got lucky and can dance, so its fun to go out clubbing where I actually look like I know what I'm doing. It's a lot of fun and a great way to spend an evening (and morning)

-Late Night Cookout. Cookout is the best place ever for burgers and milkshakes, they have like 60 kinds of milkshakes plus you can mix and match any flavors you want. We usually end up going to Cookout after hockey games and clubbing.

So yeah. There's the recap of the first bit of college and my final summer as a high schooler.
