Pop and Lock - let's dance old school!

As indicated in my previous post, I really am in a terrible mood and a lot of things are on my plate. However, something that always lifts me up is Music. I was in a mood to play Mozart today, a true rarity, and things improved after an hour and a half or so of Mozart Sonatas.

However, music also helps me on a different end now... before, I used to never dance. Had no idea how, had an awful idea of beats and rhythm, and had a hard time picking up on the intricacies of (the rare) good modern music. I've started listening to a great deal of Korean music now, it helps me to improve literacy (I'm really trying to gain full literacy) and I honestly prefer it to most US music (much the way I prefer rock from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, and others).

But that music caused me to stumble on a guy named Nam Hyun Joon, an absolutely amazing popper (style of dance started in the 80's) who pulls all sorts of styles together with his popping. So, I got really interested (helps that he's Korean). And now, after watching tons of videos, and a lot of practice, and listening to a lot of music, I think I can consider myself at least a mediocre popper.

It's a new way of expression I've found, and one I really enjoy (plus it's a good workout to boot). It has helped me let out some stress in a way that playing piano doesn't quite. While piano touches the mind and soul, dance really helps the body. So, I figured I'd drop some links down here; first is just a music video of a super chill song, second is another really sweet song, and the rest is of hyun joon doin pro style poppin.
