In case you missed it...

...the first 278 times...

This is the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Did he really say too much more than that? Not really.

Well, except that whole "we've climbed the mountain and now we're on the way down and I see a valley of peace" thing.

Reality, paging Dr. Bush...

It's always been amazing to me how Bush's numbers are so strong on foreign policy and national security, and judging from the very-limited post-debate opinion I've soaked up it's looking like he didn't clean up like people expected.

On the flip side, Kerry hit a stand-up triple. He had Bush running after a hit into the gap in his own ballpark. And next week, Kerry's the home team - it's on to the stuff where Bush is weak with the American public. Let's hope Bush doesn't get some surprising base hits of his own.

Of course, I also watched CNN interview one of those swing voters who've been getting all the attention and five-star treatment of late (could I be a swing voter?), and the way this lady praised Bush's performance and scoffed at Kerry's...it's like I might as well have been watching Will & Grace, because we sure didn't see the same debate.

And yeah, yeah - I know, it's just the debates. They don't sway as much as you'd think. Or do they? Kennedy/Nixon? Carter/Reagan? Clinton/H.W.? I know, I know - you don't have to say it. I'm an optimist...
