Mood:
remorseful

Last night I left a comment on Frosty's blog about tsunamis and surfboards.

This morning, the LA Times ran a front-page photo of a makeshift morgue (i.e. bodies strewn on the ground) in Indonesia. Many were children. One corpse, near the bottom left-hand corner, couldn't have been more than four and she'd lost all the color in her skin.

One of the more shocking and gruesome images the Times has decided to run with in a while. But goddamn if it didn't get the point across.

And make my stomach turn. I can be a real ass sometimes.

I'm sure the Times will get the usual flood of outrage letters that follows a photo like this: How could you put such a ghastly, terrible image in the public mainstream? etc. etc. Meanwhile, we continue to bomb neighborhoods in Iraq. But that's another story. I guess.

The latest tsunami death tolls I've read are topping 40 thousand.

So to answer your question, yes - I feel bad. And yes, I'm hoping this post redeems me, if only a little.

And no, I couldn't finish my breakfast.

Merry Christmas everyone.
