Well, even though they ordered it the NW Indiana Times wisely steered away from my sad little non-story story, its ill-fated development I chronicled at great length the other day.

However, the predominant African American paper in the area, the Chicago Defender, picked it up. They must be hurting for copy.

I'm tentatively posting it here - not so you can marvel, but rather to laugh. Remember, there was no story, but they made me throw *something* up there - anything! - with thirty minutes to spare.

When that happens, this is the high-larious result.

(Ignore the pen name in the byline, btw - merely a pseudonym to protect my true identity, that of Dickie Cronkite.)

In other news we had summer caliber thunderstorm last night. Then it snowed this morning. And we have a high of 17 degrees tomorrow.

Where I come from, this is the first sign of the apocalypse. People would be running through the streets rioting (again).

But here, it's par for the course.

Go fig.
