One hell of a page turner of a fucking story by American Journalism Review writer Susan Paterno.

Months after the fact, it fleshes out the sad collapse of the SB News Press ... and the inspiring example of the reporters and editors who stood for principle.

I was drawn in due to knowing one of the characters in this story pretty well. And back in Spring 2005, when I was writing for the News Press from DC, I could smell something funny in their newsroom even 2,500 miles away ... I just had no idea know what I was smelling, if that makes any sense. Okay, enough talk of smelling.

My point is, this is a gripping story for anyone to read - not just for people familiar to the situation and not just for media people. So check it out.

Oh, and the reason I saw this story today? A quick blurb on my company's daily "internal media news" email that Wendy McCaw, the News Press' owner, whom Susan Paterno shows to have a pattern of launching lawsuits at people to silence them in the void of her own ethics, has just launched yet another lawsuit against...

Wait for it...

(Wait for it...)

Susan Paterno.

As a young journalist trying to leap my own small hurdles, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Ok, ok - you're right. I'm not young.
