Hey, ever heard of hanging someone and their head falls off? Me neither. Huh.

For some reason I really enjoyed this WaPo article, capturing the view of our nation's capital as seen from various newspaper reporters across the country.

I think it's because of the similarities D.C. shares with God's Country. Yes, similarities.

Both attract the hyper agenda-driven, including but not limited to the nation's premier "fake."

Both also attract douchebag monument-visiting tourists, who piss off the locals but support their economy. Love? Meet Hate. Hate? Love.

Both hinge on powerful industry bloated with bureaucracy, rhetoric, and inefficiency; maintained mostly by status, hype and wealth rather than merit. President Bush? Meet Paris Hilton. Paris? Bush.

(And can I call the Federal Government "industry," or is that a reach? Can I call it a "bureaucracy," or is that an understatement?)

Both are four hours from landmark American cities to the north whose superior residents are quick to point out the shortcomings of their unenlightened southern neighbors.

Both are nestled in two of my most favorite scenic natural environments in the U.S.

And the list could go on, but I'm working. West Coast fake meets East Coast fake. I'm proud to have called both home! Anyways, check it out.
