Sunday at the Fair

I am going to start with yesterday. Yesterday I went for a walk. I wore my sneakers, with new and wonderful insoles. Unfortunately the result after an hour was several large and painful blisters on my heels. This is my fault, my sneakers have holes in the heels, I should have turned around and come home as soon as I realized what my feet were screaming about. But I am stubborn. However, I did take the insoles out! After that we went shopping, and drove home a second car. Pauls hours are changing, and we have no other choice. So I now have a dark green previously loved saturn. It has a lot of miles on it, but it is in very good condition, and should do just fine for the 14 mile round trip to work.

Today we went to the Texas State Fair. It is very cool. Paul will probably post a couple pictures soon. There is a butterfly house there. There were so many butterflies, one even landed on Paul! Paul bought me a massage, which was wonderful. I still smell like lavender. He is so good to me. There is also a VERY large ferris wheel. (everything is bigger in Texas...I am getting a bit tired of hearing that...) We also saw an interesting new thrill ride. It is called the slingshot. What it does is like the anti-bungee jump. There is a 2 person seat like a roller coaster seat, it is attached to a bungee type cord on the left and right sides. The seat is pulled down to the ground, and you are strapped in. Then the seat is released and you go straight up, then you bounce up and down until the bungee is all bungeed out.

After all that, I am now stuffed full of bad for you but yummy fair food. I have REALLY sore feet. I actually broke down and bought a pair of flip-flops because my heels were a bit sore.

Tomorrow is back to work. It will be very strange to drive myself to work. We have shared a car since 1996 or 97. I am going to miss chatting, bickering, or listening to the radio with Paul everyday.
