What a horrible day! And none of it even happened to me! It seems August first is the day of bad news happening to all my friends. First I find out that one of the women who used to work in my office (prior to my starting with the company) was shot and killed in a domestic fight last night. Of course, this makes my coworkers all very sad. Then I find out that my sister-in-law is being laid off. Unkind, unfair! Another friend is having problems of a personal sort. And my worst complaint today is that my feet look like little balloons. Today I feel lucky to be able to complain. It is days like this that truly make you realize that you really don't have it all that bad. I sit at my desk and work, relatively uninterrupted. I go home to a wonderful spouse, who makes me dinner and makes me rest while he does all the chores.

Otherwise, I have no real news to report. Baby is fine. I am tired. We are still at the "any day now" stage. For those of you who have been there...I am 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced. I am hoping to hold out until at least next Friday. Not that I have a choice, of course!
