Home again

Jade and I are back from our trip to NY. It was great to be back. We visited a lot of people, and for all of you whom we didn't get to see, I am very sorry!! Jade did very well on the flights, only crying for a few minutes. She was generally happy and willing to go to anyone who was willing to play with her. She did cry a lot when it was nap time. She is so like Paul sometimes, very tired, but not wanting to sleep. Most of our time was spent visiting people, or having visitors. We did get a lot of pictures, I will post some of them sometime this week.

Jade learned some interesting new things on the trip. She likes to drink from a cup. (As opposed to a bottle) She learned to make fake coughs for attention. (Thanks mom!) She tasted all kinds of new foods. She is starting to figure out how to crawl. (God help us now!)

I learned a couple things too. Pack light, because you will have 2x as much stuff on the way back. I will never get a full night of sleep until Jade turns 18 and goes to college. A backpack and sling do NOT counter-balance, they are just additional weight that needs to be carried. I am overprotective. The complimentary beverage and snack are not an option when carrying a curious 6 month old.

Paul gave me a very nice treat when I got to the airport too. He met me at the baggage claim with water and a snack. He stopped and bought me dinner on the way home, and had the apartment reorganized and clean when I got home. Very sweet. Jade and I missed him very much while we were gone.

So today has been a day of laundry and rest. Paul made a nice healthy dinner in the crock pot, and I got to unpack. Back to the normal routine tomorrow.
