Disney and Jade

Paul ran his marathon! I am so proud of him. It was wicked hot and humid, and not great for running, but he did it! Jade and I overslept and missed the start, but we made it to a couple of the later cheering spots, and the finish line.

The trip was very good. Jade was incredible. She really behaved so well, and was so excited about everything. She was very good on both flights. We got off the plane and she immediately asked where Mickey Mouse was. Once we got to our hotel, she insisted that it wasn't our room. She has never stayed in a hotel before, and didn't quite understand the concept. We then went to EPCOT and spent the afternoon there. Had Japanese for dinner, and made the mistake of taking Jade on the Nemo ride. It became her favorite. We rode it over and over and over and over... We saw the firworks and then enjoyed the benefit of the extra magic hours for people staying at the Disney resorts. Went back to the hotel late and coaxed Jade to sleep.

Saturday we woke up a bit late, had breakfast and went to EPCOT for lunch at the Rose and Crown, the english pub. It was very possibly the best meal I have ever eaten at Disney. I got a "ploughmans lunch" of bread, meat, and cheese. Oh the cheese was SO good. Jade ate some of my meat. All of the grapes, and left the cheese and bread for me. It was very good. That afternoon we went to Magic Kingdom, where Jade fell in love with Captain Jack Sparrow. Guess what her next favorite ride was... Then back to Epcot for dinner. It was in Norway, at the royal banquet hall. It was a disney princess dinner. Jade was beyond happy. Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, and Cinderella all showed up. Jade actually squealed when she saw Cinderella. It was a lot of fun. After dinner, Paul went back to the hotel to get some sleep. The buses for the race started at 3am, and the last bus was at 4am. Ouch. Jade and I went to ride the Nemo ride again, then off to Magic Kingdom for the amazing fireworks. We got a place right in front of the castle, so it was a really amazing show. Then back to the hotel, where Jade proved she was not in the least tired. We went swimming, got a snack at the cafeteria, and watched a movie. She fell asleep around 1am. It's no wonder we overslept!

Sunday we spent the morning busing to various cheering points for the race. After the race, lunch then back to the parks. MGM for a view of the holiday lights, which were amazing. Then back to the hotel to play in the water for a while.

Monday, Jade slept until 10. I think that might be the latest she has ever slept. Of couse she had been up until midnight the night before... We checked out of the hotel, had them hold our carry-on's and went to Epcot for the afternoon. Saw a few more rides, Nemo again, and played in the fountain for a bit. Then off to the airport and home.

It was a lot of fun, and an amazing experience.
