As you may have already read in Paul's journal, we lost Nightmare. She ran out at some point on Thursday morning, we think. I never saw her get out, but she is definitely not in the house. Given our coyote, owl and vulture population, we are not holding much hope for her return. She had never spent any time outside at all. She was such a unique kitty, fierce and loyal. Jade could not cry a tear without Nightmare running in to check out the problem. I will miss her greatly. The hardest part is not knowing absolutely. I find myself wandering from door to door, with the hope that she might just show up on the doorstep. We had her for 12 years, and she is such a part of our little family. Needless to say, Jade is very upset. I still hope she comes home.
