Grandma's Journal

Tonight my darling husband took me out to dinner at Chinese Gardens and to a movie. We saw Gran Treno with Clint Eastwood. What a great movie! It was really a good movie. We had a good time. We don't get the oppertunity very often to go out by ourselves. It was nice to sneek away. I gave up the oppertunity to get a signed autgrapher poster of the Tri-City American's Team Players, and an Adult Girl Scout Meeting for the Top Cookie Seller's but that is ok. I didn't even think about that. I just enjoyed my time away from the house.

My mom forgot to put her pj's on before climbing into bed, but that is ok for one night. Tommorrow is shower day so she will get clean sheets and bedding on her bed and fresh clothes anyways. One night won't make the world come to an end. She was nice and cleaned the dirty dishes off the table from her dinner that I cooked her and she was eating when I left. She sure made me happy tonight. I fixed her a grilled cheese sandwich, and gave her some fresh watermelon, baked beans, and a rice krispy treat, she told me when she saw what she was having that she liked that!

I am missing Cindy's blogs! She talks me into doing this, and then she disappears on me! What's the deal Cindy???? I know your one busy women, and you don't slow down long enough to put your feet up and relax. We need to do lunch some weekend?

Grandma's Journal My Journal I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.

I added a beautiful homemade lighthouse quilt to my collection in November 2008. A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job.
