Grandma's Journal

Wednesday came and gone. Neil cooked fish for dinner, but I didn't eat much as I wasn't feeling well. After dinner, Neil cleaned up the kitchen and I did the dishes, then I went to bed. My throat felt like it was closing up it was so dang sore.

Today I feel better. I couldn't get mom to eat lunch. She ate a few grapes and went back to bed.

I left at 1pm as I had a hair apt. to get a perm. I went to a new place called "The HOuse of Style" here on Kennewick Av. It was great. I got pampered, and catered too! It only cost me $60. That was $10 more then where I have been going for the past year.

At this shop they do Eye Lash Extenders and I would love to have this done. but my daughter thinks I am crazy. I have very short eye lashes and I would really like to have them long and curly. Now wouldn't that be cute?

I just got done cooking mom some spaghetti, and she is sitting at the table eating. Glad to see that! Was getting a little worried about her not eating.

I am heading over to Amy's house for dinner tonight. Taco's and home made German Choc. Cupcakes. I made the frosting filling earlier from scratch and Amy filled the cupcakes.

After dinner I will put in a load of dirty laundry and put away a basket of laundry and try and make some heads of getting the livingroom downstairs clean. My hubby tends to throw his stuff all around the livingroom with the thought I am sure that it is ok. NOT!

Grandma's Journal My Journal I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.
