In order to achieve my goal of posting an entry every day this month, there will probably be a lot of days when the writing only aspires to be an entry and is in actuality complete fluff. This is one of those days.

Conferences are exhausting. This one hasn't officially started yet and I'm already tired out. Meetings all day today, party tonight at which I should make an appearance. Presentations all day tomorrow, and then a dinner with prospective clients. Repeat endlessly. The worst part is always having to be "on" - smiling, making idle chatter, trying to sound like you know what you're talking about on subjects you neither care a whit about nor have any knowledge of. There is little wild behavior at conferences anymore - everyone is too afraid of harassment lawsuits and other consequences.

Rebecca wants to get the cartilage in one of her ears pierced, despite having had numerous problems with her ear lobe piercings. Better than a tattoo, right?
