Today's travel log:
5:30 or 6:30 AM, depending on whether you changed your clocks - Got up at an obscenely early hour for any day, but especially a Sunday.

8:15 - Got to the airport. Flight to LA listed as on time for a 10:25 departure. No lines at security, no problem getting my ticket re-issued despite a major screw-up by my travel agent, both of which should have made me suspicious.

9:45 - Head for gate. Note that the departure time has been inexplicably changed to 1:00 PM. Figure this must be a US Airways interpretation of daylight savings time.

9:55 - Arrive at gate to find that the departure time is correct. The crew is stuck in bad weather in Buffalo. Apparently US Airways didn't check the Weather Channel last night which was already covering the major storm that was over top of upstate New York.

11:30 - Buffalo flight is ready to take off, 1:00 PM departure is virtual certainly.

12:00 - "Virtual" being the keyword. Buffalo plane has developed a "maintenance issue", which can mean anything from a bathroom door that won't lock to an engine falling off.

12:30 - Buffalo flight is cancelled, stranding the crew and our flight. US Airways pretends to search for another crew.

1:00 - A crew has been found! (Applause in the gate area) It's the same Buffalo crew as before! (Silence) US Airways has graciously put them on a commuter flight to Philly! (Audible groans) They could have driven faster!

1:45 - The departure time is now listed as 3:00, a sure thing.

I wonder how long Amtrak would take to get me to California.
