Wow...one year ago today, March 10, I left hometown Santa Cruz, with some money in my back pocket and an open-ended ticket to New Zealand with a Working Holiday Visa. I bought a car, traveled the whole country, camped, hiked, backpacked, surfed, wine-tasted, and worked in a gorgeous apres ski town, Queenstown. Then I bought a one-way ticket to Queensland, Australia, where I lived and worked at a little river cafe on the beautiful Fraser Coast with a dear friend, Becky Walsh. Then after nine months, I headed home to California, repacked some belongings, and now I'm living in Hawaii!

Amazing what a year can do. I took a chance and now I'm reflecting on the serendipity and blessings this life beholds....

Also, today I went for a walk in Princeville, and I saw my friend, Iesha, working at her jewelry kiosk, and she gifted me a tiny and lovely plumeria charm necklace. You never know what to expect when you step out from your house when you are on Kauai.
