I'm delighted to report that there is a NEW DELUXE “Librarian Action Figure” on the horizon. Archie McPhee (for all your rubber slug needs) has created a new version, for a few bucks more ($12.95 rather than $8.95 for the classic model). Dressed in red, looking a tad more like Nancy (Pearl, the model for the action figure, author and friend of mine) she comes complete with a desk, computer AND a cart full of books. Stacks of books as well as some loose ones accompany the cart, along with Nancy's newest oeuvre, MORE BOOK LUST, My review of the book is at http://januarymagazine.com/artcult/mbooklust.html

And if you go to the McPhee website, don't hesitate to look around. Where ELSE can you get “bacon strip bandaids”. NO, I'm not kidding. You think I make this stuff up?

According to the Seattle Times' article this morning, a new deluxe “Jesus Action Figure” will soon be available - he comes with loaves, fishes and a pitcher that will allow him to turn water into wine. Other GREAT new additions include the Jane Austin action figure and one that I KNOW Stu's gonna want, the Houdini action figure. They'll join Sherlock Holmes and the Barista chez roscoe. Hey, you gotta admit, we're eclectic, no?
