i've got lots to tel you but need to wait until it's reality. Meanwhile, two authors (and 3 books) I'd like to bring to your attention.

One author you know well. Laurie R King. her TOUCHSTONE which came out very late in 2007 is a wonderful book. It's a standalone but shows us a time in history in her sublime way - never a lecture or exposition, shows us by character, action and dialogue. I've got a post coming here where i talk about one thing especially in this book that Laurie does brilliantly. That'll have to wait for now since i'm sort of emotionally exhausted and wiped out by events of the past few days.

Secondly, Tim Hallinan. You may know this guy's earlier work. The two books in his new series (which I'm trying to review as we sit here) are A NAIL THROUGH THE HEART and THE FOURTH WATCHER. This guy is SO DAMN talented. I really think that he's one of the best writers I've read in the past 12 months. The books are set in modern day Bangkok.

There. And as soon as i can feel like a have more than two brain cells to rub together, i'll report on Life Chez Roscoe. By the end of tomorrow, i should have the wheelchair. i DO have a ramp and more on that tomorrow as well.
