Oh boy oh boy! Stephan Pastis, lawyer turned cartoonist, writes the very wry, dangerous, subversive (ok, maybe not but sometimes....) and amusing "Pearls Before Swine" strip. So far, the only plus in the recent demise of Seattle's Post-Intelligencer newspaper was that the Times got to steal some daily strips, including "9 Chickweed Lane" and "Pearls Before Swine". And oh joy, there's currently a gag about hedgehogs in the strip. Look look!

Forget those nunchuks, the Minbari Fighting Salmon (there were no pike available, what can I tell you?) ( sorry, it's a "Babylon Five*" joke), ninja stars, the new trendy weapon is a hedgehog!

(*Babylon Five was a terrifically cool science fiction show on television a few years back.)
