I know, I know. To every one of you who reads this blog I'm stunned and grateful. I haven't written as much as I used to and lately i tell you about stuff more than I write about stuff. Concentrating is HARD! (Said in my best Barbie voice).
We're currently experiencing a rash of arsons in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle. Those of you who haven't been here may not know that this city often defines its various areas by neighborhoods. Some know that Fremont (the center of the Universe) is the artsy neighborhood. Greenwood is still looking for an identity it seems. We have witnessed a mushrooming of All Look The Same Condos in the neighborhood this past, oh, five or so years (and "mushroom" is the right word as they all are pseudo-townhice in shades of gray and taupe and they are spreading). They just got to us (85th and Linden, 2 blocks down from us) and thanks to this crappy development we lost our bus stop, which we fought to save years ago, because oh my the driveway MUST go where the stop was. Right.

We've lost several businesses and others are closed due to smoke and water damage. The community meeting held by the local chamber of commerce and the authorities brought over 600 people last Tuesday. I spent two hours on the phone working to get it moved from an inaccessible location. Thanks to that and I'm sure dozens of other people, it was moved but still mobbed. Today iIm meeting with someone to offer my services in fundraising for the victims of this fire. I can organize stuff, you know? That's what i do. Sort of.

Okay but meanwhile please take a look at this stunningly cool thing. The Seattle Times carried the story on Sunday. It's not only a cool story about a problem, and a very interesting solution. And a solution not only for the major problem, but well, keep reading, okay?
