Coffee for the Muse

Wrote another 250 words or so last night of the new story, tentatively retitled, after I decided to just roll with the implicit noir-ish-ness of the structure, "Hold Me In The Darkness And Tell Me Lies."

250 words is pretty pathetic after almost a week of nothing, but under the circumstances I felt pretty happy about it.

Hey, just because it's an arbitrary mental tick that's bothering me right now, does anybody remember the name of that stupid movie where Liz Hurley played the devil? There's a scene in there I was just thinking about where Brendan Frasier (I think) is a Columbian drug lord surrounded his flunkies and he's waving around a lit cigar, looking out at his bounty and he declares in a flamboyant attempt at a Columbian accent, "Life is very good."

...but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the damned movie.

In other news, I finally got paid today.

Also, the stores have re-opened post-Ernesto.

The conjunction of these two facts means that I now have....drum roll...*access to coffee.*

Life is Very Good.
