Locked Doors and New Years

All nepotism aside, this week's Strange Horizons story, Locked Doors really is very good--creepy, effecive and stylistically deft. You should go read it.

Meanwhile, I hope everyone else had a blast on New Years Eve, and that that fun sets the tone for the new year.

I myself got to wear a funny hat and drink cheap champagne with friends.

Meantime, writing-wise I'm going to try to hit the ground running in 2007. I signed up for the JaNoWriMo that some of my Clarion West 2006 classmates organized. (Basically just like NaNoWriMo, but in January, since tha's a better scheduling fit.) So expect to see daily wordcounts in this space starting tomorrow morning, with tonight's wordcount.
