Forum and Actual Writing

Did the Forum on Friday--"Paraconsistent Tense Logic and the Metaphysics of Change"--and I think it went pretty well. Dr. Bueno suggested I submit the paper to this conference on paraconsistency in Melbourne next summer, which I might do and--assuming that (a) I get in, and (b) I get funding for the trip to Australia--might be fun. Anway, the refreshments--a bag of dorritos, an over-sized thing of M&Ms and a $40 bottle of Scotch--all went over pretty well. (Yes, I blew the entire departmental budget for the forum on the Scotch, hence the lameness of the other stuff. But, hey, it was all gone by the end...) Sadly, being absolutely broke this weekend, other than the dinner right afterwards, I pretty much stayed in all weekend.

On Saturday, though, I walked down to the Borders by the Metrorail station one down from mine, set up my laptop in the cafe and actually got honest-to-god fiction writing done for the first time in three weeks, 2700 new words on the w.i.p.

God, it says pathetic things about my work habits this semester just how happy I am about that....
