I just finished--other than one little whimsical flash thingie I wrote a couple of weeks ago--my first short story since the holidays. (Well, I started it while I was still in Michigan over break, but the bulk of it was written in the last couple of days.) It's called "Contains Multitudes," and it came in at just under 4500 words.

Oddly enough, despite the fact that I'm supposed to be studying for my quals, 2008 is so far looking much more productive than 2007. Granted that the 2007 stats don't include the decent chunk I wrote of the novel w.i.p., and that I'm including the flash thing in 2008, it's early February I've still already finished three stories this year, as opposed to six for all of last year.
