For those of you who don't know, I was back in LA last weekend for the first time since May 2002. For some cool pics of me having lots and lots of fun, check out Kenny's post.

I arrived in LA at 3:15pm on Wed night and pretty much did not stop running until I got back on the plane Sunday morning at 10am. Wed night Kenny, Sondra (my best girl friend), Jason (her boyfriend) and I went to dinner at BJs Brewery in the Valley with my Aunt and Cousin. It was great to see everyone and was sad that I didn't get to see more of my family when I was out there.

Not a bad way to start out the trip though, well once we got to our destination that is. Between getting home from the airport and driving to the Valley for dinner, we were in traffic for about 2 hours. Whoopie, gotta love it!

On Thursday morning Kenny and I went to breakfast and then headed of to Disneyland. I was really looking forward to this part of the trip because I had never been to California Adventures and I was dying to see the Halloween version of the Haunted Mansion. So freaking cool.

Before we got to the Park Kenny stopped at El Pachuco so that I could check out the place where he got his red zoot suit. I tried on a pair of zoot pants. Wasn't too fond of the jacket so I ended up with a pair of black zoot pants, white suspenders and a chain. (I wore the outfit with a white shirt, black and white tie, wingtips and a black fedora yesterday for halloween :)

California Adventures was a blast. There weren't alot of people in the park that day, but it closed at 6pm that night for a special Halloween event so we made sure to go there first. All in all, we ended up in the Park for 2 hours. We could have spent more time there, but didn't wish to see any of the shows and we had already done all the rides. (well outside of the flume ride because it was very chilly that day, and the ferris wheel... I HATE ferris wheels) At any rate we started and ended that park with the Tower of Terror. Yipee!

We moved on to Disneyland a little after 3pm and worked our way around the park. I got to have two of my favorite treats, Vegetarian Gumbo in a Sourdough bowl and a mickeymouse shaped pretzel. MMMMM yummy. I also purchased two pairs of Golden Commemrative Mouse Ears (one for me and one for Charlie), a Retro style Disney Lunchbox, and a box of fudge.

On Friday Kenny and I headed to breakfast at a totally foo-foo only in LA breakfast place and then wandered down to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica (for anyone not familiar it is a few blocks blocked off to traffic with shops galore). I found a store called everything is $15 and I went a little crazy for clothes. I also bought a kick butt shirt at Urban Outfitters.

That afternoon we headed to USC and wandered around campus. We stopped to get lunch at subway and were greeted with two ordering options, one side you could talk to the "Sandwich artist" (that's what they call themselves, right?) and the other side you had to use a touchscreen kiosk... and when I say had to, I mean you HAD to, you COULD NOT talk directly to the person behind the counter. It was all very odd. We decided to take on the new technological touchscreen wonder. Lots of choices but I still didn't get enough mustard (even after clicking on MORE next to the mustard button).

Wandering campus was very surreal but fun. Lots has changed, new buildings and buildings that were just gone all together. I watched the current SC band practice and then picked up my registration stuff for the Alumni Band Events. Sondra met me on Campus around 5 and we hung out at the Alumni Band reception catching up with old bandies and discussing war stories.

I stayed with Sondra in the valley on Friday night and Saturday morning came way to early (I had to get up at 4:45 in order to be on campus by 6:30). The Alumni band practiced from 7-9 and then Sondra and I wandered back to her car until our call time at 11am. We met at Heritage Hall and marched over to the Coliseum. The game wasn't much, I mean it was great, but there wasn't much of a fight in WSU so we pretty much dominated. Still, I had a blast in the stands with Melanie, her sister Emily, Sondra(all silks), Mel's husband Jason, Mel and Emily's parents, Sondra's Jason, and Kenny.

That night I was exhausted so Kenny and I just went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory since it is one of my favorite restaurants and we don't have them around here.

Woke up the next morning finished packing and headed to the airport. I had a FANTASTIC weekend and the only thing I didn't like was not getting to see everyone as much as I would have liked. OH well... I'll have to get out there again soon. This time with Charlie in tow.

Well I am back at work now and have no motivation what so ever, but oh well. It's almost Thanksgiving and I know things will only get crazy from there.

Whew, okay I think I am done now... (dang this is a long entry)
