A Tradition of Being Non-Traditional

Okay, time to fill in some of the blanks regarding who I am and have been. No, that does not mean I'm going to list all the characters from RPGs that I've played... wait, am I? Okay, maybe a couple, but this entry is mainly about trying to give people some hint of what kind of human being(?) I am. I'm just going to toss out some completely random trivia pieces about myself, the kind of thing you wouldn't suspect unless you knew me already and knew just how warped my life has been.

*I'm 5'6". My wife is 5'11". Saying I look up to her is an understatement.

*Our first kiss was 6 hours long.

*We were married in August 2000, in Las Vegas. By Elvis. Upon completetion of the ceremony (?), it rained in Vegas for the first time in 6 months. The whole thing was broadcast on the web.

*Our wedding reception was in Ithaca, NY, at my in-laws' home. (We nearly missed it because of a mechanical problem with the only plane scheduled to go from Vegas to NY.) There was a barbeque pit in the driveway, Eva's brother frontlined a heavy metal band for our music (He did the only version of Shameless Eva and I agree on. She hates the Billy Joel version, I hate the Garth Brooks remake). All the flowers were origami.

*I've never used any illegal substance. My life gets weird enough without it.

*When my wife was preggers, we held a Monster Baby Shower at a theme restaurant in NYC called Jeckyll & Hyde. Far as I know, it's still the only baby shower they've done. The chicken quesadillas were the best I've had.

*I use a baseball card instead of my ID to try and get in my workplace at random intervals, just to see if the guards are paying attention.

*Caffeine really doesn't do a whole lot for me anymore - I think I've abused the privilege.

*I've had short hair for some 6 years now, and there are still some people who can't picture me without the long mane that used to reach down to the small of my back.

*The best way I know to clear a bar is to pump a ton of quarters into the jukebox and play YMCA by the Village People as many times in a row as you can.

*Nearly every bar in NY still has YMCA on their jukebox.

*People who know me don't let me consume more than 2 alcholic drinks in a sitting, ever. It has nothing to do with that YMCA business, I did that when I was sober.
