In fact, today marks one of the most important days in all my life. More important than my own birthday. On November 4, 1977, my beautiful amazing wife, Eva Rose, was born. This, as they say, changed everything.

Yes, my wife is younger than Star Wars and I'm... not. Hush, don't rub it in.

She's an amazing woman, truly. Teacher, gamer, mother, goddess, and so much more. Tough enough to teach high school in the South Bronx, tender enough to keep my fragile ego intact, balanced enough to keep any of us anchored when we fly off the handle, patient enough that she can deal with her students, and me, and our 19 month old son, day in and day out. So smart, she's always right should we disagree... and gracious to point that even considering that, she doesn't always have to win. There are so very many things I can say about her... the first that comes to mind is YOU CAN'T HAVE HER! Go find your own, I'm keeping her! MINE MINE MINE!! Yes, I'm admittedly selfish and possessive where she's concerned - I get jealous of my own son's time with her. Trust me, she's worth it. And no, you still can't have her.

Flowers, jewelry, perfume? Completely unimportant to her. She likes music and movies, RPGs, books, and all sorts of electronics. So I'm getting her a walletful of DVDs (including one she knows about - I made sure it was okay to give her one late, since Shrek 2 doesn't come out til tomorrow). Mayhap for dinner I shall take her to her favorite restaurant... Friendly's. Or perhaps a brazilian steakhouse (yes, I know the word for it, I just can't spell it), she likes those as well. But whatever else we do, three words are in effect tonight: Whatever Eva Wants.
