Ugh! Monday

well, well, well, it's another stinkin week. hubby and i were blessed with a gift from daddy in law, so we selfishly spent the money on ourselves and had us a little party.

we do that every now and then, lock ourselves in our room, and spend the whole night like we did when we were star crossed lovers dating, talking, giggling and well, you know...hehe. tho last week i might have said i hate being married, this week i'm loving it. i love my husband, dammit, and sometimes that just pisses me off...hahaha...

damn, marriage is so hard sometimes. and over the years the one thing i noticed will kill it sooner than anything else, even before cheating, is complacency. and trust me, i am little miss complacent. so every six months or so i walk around with a boot up my ass, to keep it in gear.

but i'm tired today. and sore. gee, i'm getting old.

i took z to the doctor today. man, they were really nice. she gave me a pretty big discount, about 30% so i actually saved money...big relief. his elbow is fine. the doctor couldn't see a break but said that the internal swelling and bruising is generally an indication of one. but he said there's nothing to do. it might not hurt anymore, or he may have pain for a month. he says the pain is practically non-existent now, just when he moves it a couple of directions, but he has very nearly all his range of motion back.

the doctor tells us he used to inline skate. i said z wasn't wearing his elbow pads, to which he said, "i never wore them either." i tsked him and said, "you're not suppose to say that, you're a doctor" he stressed wrist pads, which z refuses to wear. ah, kids.

so i was going to make him go to school, but he whined and begged and i'm a soft touch, so i let him stay home. he's the one who's going to have to repeat his grade, not me.

later today, i have to take daddy in law to an appointment at the VA. that's about a 45 min drive each way. ugh. i hate the VA. it's a preoperative appointment. oh, he's not having anything real major done, just a colonoscopy, poor guy. i've been on the bad end of that too many times to count. he should be able to go by himself, but i know he wants someone there who will remember what they tell him. plus, i'm gonna make sure they're going to be willing to medicate him (who knows, the gov is so stingy with vets, i can see them not doing it). because i know him, he's like a kid and if they don't medicate him, he'll never ever ever have another one again, even if he needs it for a live and death situation. and honestly, no one and i mean NO ONE should ever have to have one of those without being doped up. the prep is bad enough.

so anyway, my day is shot to hell.

unlike you others, i don't have wonderful or awful submission tales. i sent something out the other day, and i have no idea how long it will take to get a reply. i don't think they pay, but it looks like a pretty prestigeous publication so i'm hoping for a thumbs up. i'm still waiting on one that should be coming in the next few weeks. it's for a little bit of cash(very little) so i hope they take it.

and of course, this week i'm going to finish the site. just a few things here and there to do, but submissions for the ezine open the 15th which is almost upon us. i'm excited, until i see some of the first submissions...

ok, well, enough is enough. got some things to do before i have to leave for my trek down the parking lot they call an interstate.
