nothing gained

don't have much to say today. just been tooling around the ole internet trying to take care of pesky little details.

finally got the ads up at the site. ooo, i hate to use them, but we'll see if they'll bring some much needed revenue.

saffy and i have decided to do a featured author in the glorious pages of Chick Flicks. I'm excited that Alison Davies will be our first. She's a very talented girl, with some great, often disturbing insights.

i've been a little slack on editing her book, but she's a sweetie and very forgiving. the whole world should be as nice and laid back, we'd have a lot less mess.(ugh, don't wanna get started on that)

at any rate, i hope to get some writing, if not editing done today. look for a few more places to tell me "hell no" it's all a part of the game, eh?

i'm terribly behind on my reading and critiquing. gotta catch up on that sometime. i need just a few more hours each day. people are pulling at me from all directions and my arms are getting tired(now, if they'd only get thinner)

i keep going over the southern horror story in my head. i have the southern part down, but i suck at horror. i'm thinking of going a different direction. i've started it once, but i don't like it, it feels kind of stiff for one of my southern narrator tales. i usually use a male character(i have such a strong male side)but i think i'm gonna switch gears and give a girl a try.

still not happy with my Of Hotdogs and Strippers, a day in the life of story. don't like the beginning, it feels too canned. need to be a little more natural. where's a stinkin valium when you need it? i should probably just step outside in the 90 degree heat(it's only May for God's sake!) and i'm sure that will bring my laid back southern laziness to the forefront. i mean, that's why we sound like mush mouths, it's just too damn hot to say a whole word.

ok, saffy, here's your sunset, as seen through the trees out back of my house. i could only see a dots worth, hold a dime out arm's length and that's just about all i saw. first it was yellow, 30 secs later, it turned a nice deep orange. 30 secs after that, a beautiful soft orangey pink. then 30 secs later, a nice medium blue/purple, before the light went completely out and turned to dark.

have a good day, one and all!
