Sometimes I can't believe my ears

allrighty, this is a mini-quasi-rant. it's rainy and icky here (Tammy is still having her way with us)and we not only lost trivia in a horrible horrible crash and burn, but the two High Octanes i had are playing a wee bit of havoc with me body.

however, i turn on the tv this morning, to catch my morning news(i'm a news junkie, unfortunately)and they're playing exerpts and condensing some of dubya's comments yesterday in a speech he made.

bush, in an effort to gain back lost support for his illegal war and to convince us why would should stay the course, tells us that iraq is the center for al queda.

well, no shit. how come half of the country and most of the world saw that one coming, but you and your greedy right wing cronies didn't? it wouldn't have become the poster child for western occupation had we been a little more patient, let the inspectors do their jobs and get the rest of the world behind us. most islamic countries had no use for saddam and don't consider him an ideal allah loving muslim. there's a greeting muslims give to each other when meeting. a few weeks ago, when saddam walked into court, he uttered this greeting and no one answered him back. his is not considered a religious man. but those countries also don't appreciate vigilantism and rogue invasions.

bush says he not only intends to fight terrorism, but also communism and fascism.

wow, does that mean he's going to fight himself and his administration? because since 9-11 and especially since the last election, he's been looking and acting pretty fascist.

ok, ok, this is the best one of them all. i almost fell off the loveseat when i heard it. bush called osama bin laden a hypocrit who was raised in a family of privilege and duped others to do his fighting for him.

what? oh now this is the pot calling the kettle black. either this man is so filled with delusions and denial or he's just plain stupid. wasn't he the one who ducked out of the vietnam war to help his father campaign for office? do we see his ass over in iraq beside his troops? someone might say, well laurie, presidents and kings don't go to war like they did in the old days. why? "why don't presidents fight the war, why they always send the poor" (system of a down) last i heard, not one congressman's kid is fighting in either afganistan or iraq. hey, why don't we send those bush twins over there? he'd send my kid in a heartbeat, so why not his? jeb's kids are a fucking mess, maybe the military might straighten them out.

see, i get it now. in osama, bush sees himself. their backgrounds are the same, their one-sided god's will positions are the same, only bush isn't "god fearing" enough to resist temptation and greed. only an ignorant man continues to insist he's right when all the evidence proves he's wrong. and ignorant men are usually fiercely insecure deep down inside. and insecure men, lash out at those less powerful. bush's deep seeded self-hatred will destroy us all.

let's face it, he's a product of the "me" 80's. his presidency is the "ole boys network" on steroids. he and his friends will come out of this better than what they went in, while the rest of us, our children, and our children's children will continue pay for it long after he's gone.
