i have nothing to say,

not really. i've been in one of my moods. not a deeply blue mood just an eeeh-mood.

saturday morning, the shuttle endeavor is scheduled to launch. i'm going to try really really hard to get up. i'm a night person so a 7:19 a.m. launch might be tough for me. maybe if i sleep during the day, and get up at 4:00 a.m. i might make it. i think i'm going to try to go to the port or jetty park. you can see the government property from there. i haven't been lucky enough to see it yet, but it is so close across the port waters that you can see when they dock submarines. anyway, fingers crossed, i'll make it.

my new, horrible guilty pleasure---i'm a celebrity, get me out of here. oh my goodness, the first several shows with self proclaimed christian spencer pratt, and his "i wanna be mother teresa---i don't want to leave the hills ever again" dingbat wife heidi were like watching a train wreck. it was horrible and bloody, but you just couldn't look away. if those two are what christianity is all about, i don't wanna do it. janice dickenson is not much better. seriously, i had never heard of her (until howard stern) and i remember the first super model being cheryl tiggs. am i wrong? i don't think so.

i've just started going through the rescue me series with denis leary. i've always loved denis and his delivery is just about the same as in his stand up. i'm pleasantly surprised. i didn't watch it on tv because we didn't have cable, but i am very thankful they show it on hulu.com (oh hulu, what would i do without you?)

oooo, boy, i tell ya, it's been hotter than a witch's tit in a steel bra here (brass is for cold, steel for heat) and it's only june. oye vey.

so in-between my eeeeh moments and indulging my inner tv addiction, what have i been working on? getting health care for all in this country.

unfortunately, i think the insurance companies might win in their quest to keep the status quo. and the politians on both sides of the aisle can't seem to give up those big bucks they receive in campaign donations. however, i think they are underestimating the will of the people this time. and i think if they don't do what WE THE PEOPLE want, they will suffer the consequences.

need information, wanna help, sign a petition? This is just the tip of the iceberg folks. there are more links out there.

now i know, having spent all my life in the south, that i've always been surrounded by such people. i remember as a kid driving through the oklahoma river bottoms on my way back home to f.s. seeing a field full of burning crosses, like 20+ of them. i thought it had something to do with religion. my parents, perhaps trying to shield me from the truth (they weren't "overtly" racist, just ever so subtly so) kind of skimmed over the subject of what the true meaning was.

when i was older, i remember the kkk wanting to march in our town. the sheriff was concerned that it would cause problems but they were allowed to march anyway.

fast forward to charlotte, a nice city mixed with every ethnicity, who's median income was in the $45,000 range, and home to ibm, first union, wacovia, bofa and a few other technology type businesses. we went to a party thrown by a neighbor who worked for first union. his guests consisted of first union employees and neighbors (who were equally employed in their own fields) imagine my surprise when the iceback (who was equally surprised and enraged) was approached by two or three men active in the kkk. they slipped him their cards (yes, they had business cards) half of the guests were african american, and these kkk guys were slithering around blatantly behind their backs.

ah, if religion didn't open me up to the hypocritical nature of man, racism put the nail in the coffin (so to speak)

however, seeing palin's hate speeches during the campaign and the vitriol she stirred up (which btw, the worst of the worst seemed to be in FL), hearing o'reilly's "tiller the baby killer" 40+ times (I hope Tiller's family sues the pants off of him,) hannity's creative clipping of obama's ciaro speech to make it out like obama was sympathizing with the 9-11 highjackers (*sigh* hannity is soooo bad on so many levels,) and good ole rush limbaugh's daily rebel rousing, the anger and racism is becoming increasingly frightening and dangerous. Even FOX NEW's own Shep Shepard is concerned with the 100's of constant angry emails they are receiving on a daily basis.

look who (more like what) i live around.

Hate Group Map in FL

btw, morning-sell-out-to-starbucks-joe has decided to take on jon stewart. tsk, tsk. you'd think he'd have learned something from the crossfire-carlson tucker-exchange that ended up as the (yes again)nail in the coffin of that show, and the jim cramer feud.

for those who didn't see it...(btw, tucker has since stopped wearing that bow tie...lol)

unfortunately, the whole episode is no longer available (and there was a week long back and forth leading up to this as well as cramer after the show aired several days later, then blasting the show after his appearance...in other words, he pussed out and then wanted to blame jon stewart for him pussing out.)

we need comedians to point out the hypocrisy and absurdity in our political discourse.

ok, i guess that's it for my nothing-to-see-here-folks entry.
