Dogster

Ocean Puppy

No, no photos, but as I was walking Asche tonight, I passed two men (uh, i'm pretty sure they were drunk) walking their little jack russel terrier, i think, and he was all wet. i asked "isn't it illegal to take a dog on the beach" and they said, well, yeah, sometimes they'll come up to you and say something, if there's anyone there. in other words, if you get caught, it's just a warning "uh, no dogs allowed"

but i want a beach dog, and ocean dog, a dog that will run through the waves....so i decided to take Asche to the beach. just to get her little tootsies wet in the ocean. i mean she's a scaredy cat of everything. i figured the ocean might freak her out, it did sergei when he was here.

surprisingly, she did pretty good. i waded out ankle deep and she took the small little waves that came in. but the slightly more forceful ones (to her at least) kind of washed her on shore a little. as she often does when she's scared, she hovered between my legs.

we didn't stay long, i just wanted her to get the hang of it.

as i just took her out for her last walk, the moon is just waning past the full mark, on it's way back down. but the night is still and i could hear the ocean from my house.

niiiiiice!

now, if i can just get her completely crate trained (she peed in it last night and got a bath early this am because of it) and house broken (she pooped inside after i took her for a long walk after she ate) i'll be happy.

it is much tougher house breaking a female dog than a male. but from what i hear, it's much easier potty training a girl than it is a boy. it's a trade off i suppose.

;-)
