Hair and Green Wing

The thing i like most about my new hair cut is she cut it with styling in mind. but i have to say that i love it because i don't have to style it. it can be wash and go. my hair is wavy, has been most if not all of my life. i always adored those "messy looks" and my old hair dresser, jayme, who i like to think honed his skills doing my hair for our drama club productions, would tell me those messy looks really took not only a special cut, but styling to make it look that way. hair changes all the time throughout a woman's life. hormones and all that jazz.

this cut is right on. i can blow dry it smooth, i can blow dry it toward the face, or blow dry it away from the face or i can just let it dry o'natural.

fyi, i miss jayme. i think he would be very impressed with this girl who just cut my hair (not an easy feat. hair dressers have brought me to tears because my hair is so difficult to cut)

****

i just found the best show. it's call "green wing" it's a British comedy like no other. i hear the writer is also the writer for "the office" it only ran two seasons, sadly, but i have been watching it on hulu and gracious it does make my chuckle.

it's set in a hospital. the show and characters are kind of rediculous, i mean an extreme exageration of really, how working in a hospital is. some liken it to the British version of scrubs but it is so much more than that.

first of all the (not sure how to phrase this) format/camera/effects is not like any other. they fast forward certain scenes, normal speed others and slow motion even others. from a cinematography (i guess) point of view it's outstanding.

on top of that, all the characters are weird/quirky, some more than others. some are extremely outrageous, like the Scottish hospital administrator (she's one of my favs) to the older slutty horndog human resources manager to the just plain "oh my god!" radiology doctor. and those are just the peripheral characters. the series is a HOOT! it has silly, almost slapstick kind of comedy, juvenile comedy but it also has such a sophistication comedy wise. there is such an intelligent wit behind the dialogue.

i'm only about half way, if that, through the first season. I can't wait to watch the rest of it. and then, i'll be very sad that there were only 2 seasons (it's from 2004)
