ooo, ooo, I remember

here a few weeks ago, this is all new to me folks, i planted my little herb garden: dill, cilantro and cherry tomatoes (i wanted chive, but not in season)

it suddenly turned cold here. so i brought my cumbersome planter inside. i placed it on my dining room table, and mostly because i smoke, i covered it with a garbage bag.

within days, my tomatoes, with the least amount of germination time--5-10 days, began to sprout. first two then three then six. next, my cilantro i think. it has the next to shortest germination time at 10-15 days.

finally, my dill with the longest germination time at 20-25 days has finally made an appearance with three teeny-tiny little sprouts.

Yay me! we're talking about a girl who once killed an air fern. for those who don't know about air ferns, they need no soil, no light, no water. i killed it with the hot hair from a blow dryer. *sigh* every other plant i've tried to grow has died, including my lucky bamboo which i thought would be able to withstand the heat and sun of northern florida. it couldn't.

but now, i have my ficus, my palm, my vine, a vine i rooted and planted---i also stuck a few herbs in, but they're not doing as well as my herb garden, my aloe vera, my new leafy plant (which asche dug up so i had to replant) and my herb garden. i'm doing really well. i'd be doing better if asche hadn't eaten my other three plants: 1 pansy, and two red furry leafed plants.

i now have all of my plants except the palm and vine (in the same container) and the ficus (which we have to rope to the balcony because of the wind) up on blocks so she can't get to them. little shit!

i'll be adding to my patio little by little. i hope to eventually have the whole thing covered with lush plants, flowers and herbs.

and to top it off, since my building is pink, i found pink lights to hang around the edge. my own version of a tiki patio.

party at my place! come on down!
