I shouldn't be doing ths now, I have too much work to do, but things are bouncing around in my head and I have to put them down before I forget any more of them.

Last weekend my parents babysat for LB. All went well, but when they put him into bed, they closed his bedroom door. When my mom got downstairs and turned on the monitor, he was pathetically semi-crying, "open door, open door," over and over and over again. My dad went in to open the door and thought he should check on LB too, and when he turned the light on LB was lying there in bed, he didn't even get up to object, but still objected. Once the door got left open a crack, like it usually is, he went right to sleep. Poor little silly boy.

Then last night he decided that he wasn't tired and it would be much more fun to lie in bed and kick the side of his crib. We weren't sure exactly what he was doing until we went in there, then it was obvious. We thought that we should leave him be and so he'd go off to sleep, but after about 2 hours it had been enough. Phil poked his head in to discover that, once again, LB was still lying down. He told him to settle down. A little while later, I went in, as LB hadn't settled down. I walked up to the crib and told him that it was time to go to sleep, he promptly stuck his thumb in his mouth and went to sleep. I found it quite odd. Tonight he was starting to do the same thing, and when told to go to sleep, he didn't. HE still acted like he was going to, but then didn't. He's asleep now, we think.

His day care provider (DCP) has been bugging me about getting him into real shoes. He currently wears mostly Robeez which are soft leather soled shoes. He likes them, we like them, I was not in as big of a hurry to get him into "real shoes." So, I wasn't too shocked when his Hanukkah gift was a pair of shoes. Unfortunately, we can't seem to get shoes onto his feet. Both those and a pair I got for him didn't work. I think I need to go get his feet sized and then figure out what's happening with the whole putting them on thing.

The night we opened the shoes from the DCP-picture this... LB sitting on the floor, me holding his right leg up in the air, trying to get a shoe on it and PHil holding his left doing the same. LB was trying to stay upright, and not tip over backwards, sometimes waving his arms around to do so. Too cute, wish we had a picture of that.

On the subject of Hanukkah, he's LOVING it this year. He likes opening presents, and whether it's clothes or other stuff, he loves it all. I'm very much enjoying Hanukkah with him around.

OK, now I gotta get back to work-UGH!!
