Two tidbits for this evening.

Number 1:

Apparently LB is learning about manners at day care.
Now, when he coughs or sneezes he says, "excuse me." OK, that's nice, that's cool, he's learning about what it's polite to do. His statement is followed up by a running commentary of usually a couple of sentences. They contain pieces of the following:

I need to say excuse me after I cough/sneeze because it shows my good manners. People take care of good manners.

I'm not sure about that last part, but I think I get the gist.

Number 2:

Yesterday was a really hard day, stress-wise. Don't ask it's a complete journal entry in itself. But I ended up keeping LB at home with me instead of taking him to day care. Sometimes he volunteers hugs and kisses, sometimes he gives them when asked, sometimes he outright refuses. Yesterday afternoon I asked for a hug and he turned me down, then I looked at him and said, "I'm having a rough day, do you think I could have a hug?" and he immediately ran over and gave me one. And after the hug said something like, "and now you feel better Mommy." Such a wonderful kid.
