OK, so it's been way too long since I've updated. Let's see, what are the recent updates?

LB now attempts to negotiate how many books he gets to read before nap or bed, he usually loses, but it's nice that he's trying. Many of his books are completely memorized. I can say the first word of the line (or sometimes nothing) and he'll complete the line and usually that page.

He LOVES swim class. And I mean LOVES. When we get to the pool he wants to get in immediately and then wants to stay in and play and "swim" as much as he can. He can't actually swim yet, but he is so much more bouyant in the water than last summer. He hits the water and immediately his arms and legs start going. It's fun!! He's turning into a fish, like both his parents were when they were kids.

Last night, Phil wanted my attention so he called to me, "Judy Dear..." Then last night when LB was done reading his book with daddy and it was time for family snuggles and kisses before bed (a nightly household tradition), he came to my office door and said, "Judy Dear." It was the cutest thing. And it's nice to know that he still likes me, at least, and I think that he even loves me.

On that note, sometimes it's hard to tell if he likes me or not. He's taken a decided preference for daddy much of the time. Sometimes only daddy can help fix his train or help him get ready for dinner, and sometimes only daddy can play with him or go for walks with him. So now, whenever he does this, Phil refers to me as chopped liver. See this entry for an explanation.

So, today, when I went to pick him up from day care, he was still napping, and when they opened the door he stayed asleep. I just can't help snapping pictures of a sleeping LB, so here's one to share:

Then, as I said above, we went swimming at a neighbor's house.

I got to try out the underwater capabilities of my new camera (relatively new, it came along with the scanner that I raved about).

I didn't get any great underwater shots because he doesn't put his head completely under yet, but I found some of these interesting anyway.

He's been spending some time outside but in shorts and t-shirts or in his swim wetsuit. Consequently he's developed a bit of a farmer's tan. :)
