LB finally had his 4 year old visit to the doctor yesterday.

He's right on the curve where he should be for height and weight.

He's eating fine, developing fine, and all looks good.

As you can see, he seems to be listning pretty well to the doctor. In fact, he did everything the doctor asked him to do and was a perfect patient. We were so proud!!

Yes Doctor

At the end of his appointment, he needed two shots (rather than getting 4 next year, this doctor suggested splitting them up, two this year and two next year). They had him sit on the edge of the exam table with me standing in front of him. They then asked me to hold his other arm, as many kids try to use it to get at the arm being injected. Then the nurse was ready to give the shot. We both tried to get LB to look at us (Phil and me), but he didn't want to; he wanted to watch them give him the shot. And so he did, no flinch, no shy away, no tears, not even a little "ouch" from him. And he sat through both shots, no problem. He was a trooper.

One of my colleagues, when I told her about it today, called him a stud. So he's now our little stud muffin, right?

Funny add on though, that evening, I asked him if we should take off the band aids that they put on over the injection sites, and he said no, because it would hurt to take them off. Silly boy!!

Unfortunately, today, his arm's a bit grumpy. It doesn't hurt, but looks like this:

Immunization

If you look carefully you can see the two spots where they gave the injection and the red area is below them. I assume the two are related, but I don't know. The red area is warm and feels a bit firmer than his other arm at the same spot. If it's still there tomorrow afternoon, we'll probably call the doctor.
