We went to the LA County Fair on Saturday. LB was very excited to see the model railroad. It is in a space that is 100 ft. by 300 ft. or so. It is pretty amazing.

LB was entranced watching the railroad. We went back two more times during the day and each time he was happy to sit along the side and wait for the trains to come by. We sat outside a bit as well.

When we arrived, I thought I knew where the model railroad was so took us there first. It was in fact some old retired full size engines that were neat to look at, but a little too loud for LB to listen to, as evidenced by this next picture.

As much as he liked trains, he couldn't wait to get out of there. And in his defense, the train horns/whistles were LOUD. Plus he'd spotted the gondola, so we went for a gondola ride.

Lucky for us, the gondola let off RIGHT next to the model railroad. We even got some nice aerial views:

LB also got to go into the Winter Wonderland building. He got snowed on, rode a nerf sled down a small hill (twice), and played in the snow hard packed ice.

We left there and saw a sign for a train ride, so went looking. On the way LB turned into a bunny:

He did ride the train, it was a "trackless train" aka a motor car which towed other cars behind it. He enjoyed it though.

And we did eat some fried foods, but none of the ones from the amazing fried food shack:

LB and I had some fish and chips for lunch and then on our way out we shared some apple fries, granny smith apples cut into fry shapes, flash fried, rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served with real whipped cream. They were yummy, and as fried foods went were probably not too bad, although not the healthiest thing in the universe.

When asked what his favorite part was, he consistently says it was the railroad, and I have to agree, it was his favorite part of the fair.
