I'm so totally counting down the days, practically the hours and minutes, until my LASIK. I had my pre-op appointment yesterday, which was fine, except Dr. Cress said I shouldn't go white water rafting with my students when I take them on their California Gold Rush trip. I'm bummed! I was hoping I could just wear some protective eye gear, but he's worried that if something knocks into the eye gear, it'll slip and get me in the eye. And there's pretty much no way to avoid getting river water splashed on you, so.... I'll have to see if I have two parents who will be coming on the trip, so that there can be one in each raft; otherwise we'll have to do something else instead of rafting. This sucks. But you know what, it's my eyes, and it's for the rest of my life, and I'll go rafting another time.

Maybe I can still meet up with them for lunch or something, and I'll just hang out and enjoy the sunshine and a book while they're on the river.

Okay, I'm officially late leaving the house now, so I better run. Blargh!
