I had a lovely weekend up on the Mendocino Coast visiting my folks, picking blackberries (there're now enough in my freezer for several jars of jam or two pies; such a hard choice!), sleeping, checking out my dad's new paintings, talking to my mom about relationships and babies, seeing a local (and pretty good!) production of "Funny Girl," and running into the mothers of a couple of high school friends of mine.

It turns out that a couple of guys I went to high school with are living in San Francisco, and another one is moving from NY to SF later this week. I was really excited to hear what they're all up to, because even though we weren't super ultra close in high school, we were friends, and it would be great to get back in touch with them. And SF is really not that far away for me. Not as far as NY, that's for sure.

Anyway, I'm back now, and kind of frazzled, so I'm going to go to bed. I'm actually getting up early and going to work tomorrow. I know it's Labor Day, but I have a bunch of stuff to get done in my classroom, and I'm meeting my boss there (she has a bunch to do in her room too), and I took Thursday and Friday off. Well, Thursday I wasn't getting paid for, but Friday I was. So it kind of works out.

Aargh! It's 12:30 already! Well, I went out tonight with Seanny Boy and his friend Jay, who's in town for a few days, so it's not surprising that it's on the late side. I should actually be proud of myself for getting home as early as I did! Seanny was very sweet and walked me home (and then went back out to go tear up the town with Jay some more). Thanks, boyo! It's good to live close to downtown; it allows for walking instead of driving when one is going out at night.
